Welcome to the Trading Post
Last Updated: March 4, 2024
Hello, and thank you for visiting my trading post. My name is Mike and I created this page as a means of interacting with other collectors and trading duplicates. I'm a member of Old Baseball Cards and Vintage Card Traders, a great network of fellow collectors. I'm particularly interested in set building, but do have some specialty collections (baseball, football, and basketball Hall of Fames, and Type Cards). Below is a list of what I'm looking for followed by what I have to trade.
As always, I'm working on the several sets right now. I've listed my top priority sets first, followed by secondary priorities, and other sets. I've included card numbers on these sets. I generally do a pretty good job of keeping this page up to date, but these lists may change quickly.
As always, I'm working on the several sets right now. I've listed my top priority sets first, followed by secondary priorities, and other sets. I've included card numbers on these sets. I generally do a pretty good job of keeping this page up to date, but these lists may change quickly.
My Wantlist
Unless otherwise noted, I'm generally looking for cards in VG-Ex to Ex range. In other words, my cards and sets generally fall into the mid-range category. I'm not too particular on centering or sharp corners. I generally prefer my cards to be crease or wrinkle free, although I am much less condition-sensitive depending on sets from the 1950s or earlier. Practical philosophy on trading and condition: if I don't have an upgrade list for a set, this means that condition is not critical. Also, while I would like to have the nicest condition cards possible I would rather have a lower grade card than no card at all.
I've organized my wantlist page by priority. I have also developed a table that shows which sets I have already completed so that you can see at a glance which sets I might be working on. Click here to see that list.
In order to help you quickly identify which sets I'm working on, I'm listing the sets here at the top.
The first section are my top priorities sorted by sport. Those are:
Baseball: 1939 Play Ball, 1941 Play Ball, 1949 Bowman, 1951 Bowman, 1951 Topps Blue, 1952 Bowman, 1952 Topps, 1953 Topps, 1959 Fleer, 1961 Nu-Card Scoops, 1961 Post, 1963 Post, 1969 Globe Imports Playing Cards, 1971 Topps Coins, 1973 Topps Baseball (upgrades) and a few Kelloggs (1973, 1974, and 1978) and Hostess (1979) sets. Last set in this section is a 1978 Atlanta Nobis set.
Football: 1963 Stancraft (back variations), 1969 Topps, 1970 Topps, 1971 Kelloggs, 1972 Sunoco Stamps, 1972 Topps, 1974 Team Checklists
Basketball / Hockey / Miscellaneous / Non-Sport: T59 Flags of Nations, 1952 Topps Look-N-See, 1954-55 World on Wheels, 1961-62 Fleer Basketball, 1971-72 Topps Hockey Booklets, 1974-75 Topps Hockey, 1975 Sugar Daddy, 1976 Sugar Daddy, 1975-76 Topps Basketball, 1977-78 Topps Basketball, 1977 Charlie's Angels. Any Pittsburgh Penguin hockey cards.
UV Set: I posted a wantlist for 1995. If you can help, click below to go to my UV page. I have plenty of 1994 dupes to trade.

Next are my second tier priorities. These sets are generally less than 50% complete, so I created a 'have' list on these (and all subsequent sets): 1947-66 Exhibit, 1952-55 Red Man Tobacco, 1953-55 Dormand Postcards, 1953-55 Johnston Cookies, 1954 Red Heart, 1960 Leaf, 1962 Post Canadian / 1962 Jello, 1969-72 Milton Bradley, 1972 Fleer Famous Feats, 1972 Laughlin Great Feats, 1973 Fleer Wildest Days and Plays, 1974 Fleer Baseball Firsts, 1974 Laughlin All Star Games
After this section are my pre-war sets. These are primarily here as an easy online checklist for me, but I have made the occasional trade with these great old sets: 1911 T205, 1910 T206, 1912 T207, 1910 Sweet Caporal Pins, T218, 1914 B18 Blankets, 1919 W514, 1921 Exhibit, 1922 Exhibit, 1923 W572, 1933 Indian Gum, 1933 Jungle Gum, 1933 Goudey, 1934 Goudey, 1934 R310 Butterfingers, 1934-36 Batter Up, 1934-36 Diamond Stars, 1934-37 Diamond Matchbooks, 1936 National Chicle R313, 1936 Goudey R314, 1936 S&S Game, 1938 Our National Game Pins, 1939-46 Exhibits, 1940 Play Ball, and 1941 Double Play.
Following this are several sets that I have completed but I'm looking for upgrades: These sets are 1950 Bowman, 1953 Bowman Color, 1954 Bowman, 1955 Bowman, 1955 Topps, 1956 Topps, 1958 Topps, 1960 Topps, 1960 Fleer, 1961, Fleer, 1961 Topps, 1962 Topps, 1963 Fleer, 1963 Topps, 1964 Topps, 1965 Philadelphia Football, 1966 Topps, 1967 Topps, 1968 Topps, 1970-71 Topps Basketball, 1971-72 Topps Hockey, 1971-72 OPC Hockey, 1972-73 Topps Basketball, 1973-74 Topps Basketball, 1976 Topps Football
UV Topps baseball sets I don't have. I stopped collecting new cards in the early 1990s, although I have bought complete sets here and there. These are a low priority, but adding these sets would enable me to have a complete Topps run from about 1954 to present. Complete regular sets needed: 2001, 2004, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020
Lastly are my links to Type Cards and Baseball/ Football/Basketball Hall of Fame wants and haves.
My top priorities
BASEBALL
Daniel's Brewers want list: My son Daniel wants to get every Brewers Topps card (base sets) produced. Click here to see his list.
1939 Play Ball (prefer VG or better): For practical matters I'm probably done although I still need #92 Williams
1941 Play Ball (prefer VG or better): I've been chipping away for years and now need just 12-15 cards or so. This list does not count a unique one I have which is #52 on the front and #69 on back. Maybe I should also look for a corresponding #69 front with a #52 back.
1949 Bowman (no condition required, VG preferred): I'm down to about 20-25 left. I still need the following: 24 Musial, 27 Feller, 29 Kiner, 33 Spahn, 36 Reese, 46 Roberts, 50 Robinson, 60 Berra, 65 Slaughter, 84 Campanella, 100 Hodges, 110 Wynn, 159, 161, 162, 211, 214 Ashburn, 219, 224 Paige, 226 Snider, 232, 233 Doby, 238 Lemon
1951 Bowman (no condition required): Down to just 2, but they are toughies: 253 Mantle, 305 Mays
1951 Topps (no condition required)
Red Back: Complete.
Blue Back: Slowly chipping away and just passed the halfway point. I need 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 16, 17, 20, 24, 26, 29, 31, 36, 37, 39, 40, 43, 44, 46, 50, 51, 52
1952 Bowman (no condition required): Down to just two, the same guys as 1951 Bowman. I still need the following: 101 Mantle, 218 Mays
1952 Topps (my #1-310 is VG on average. Any condition works for high numbers - I'll take whatever help I can get): Just one card away from finishing #1-310. The brutal high numbers, though, are another story. Here's what I still need: 261 Mays, 311, 312, 314-332, 334, 335, 337-344, 346-360, 362-365, 368-370, 372, 373, 375, 376, 378, 380-385, 387-407

During the 1970s, Fleer and Laughlin issued a number of baseball sets. Because Topps had a monopoly on current players, they had to be creative. I have picked up a few of these here and there. It's a low priority but I have decided to list them here. These are all HAVE lists:

1971-72 OPC Hockey (prefer VG or better): I built an OPC series 2 set (mostly #133 to #264) to complement my Topps set. 1971-72 OPC Hockey (prefer VG or better): I built an OPC series 2 set (mostly #133 to #264) to complement my Topps set.
